Almeco Group is the result of a series of forward-looking intuitive and winning strategic choices adopted throughout the years
by the founding families of
Visigalli e Fiorentini:
1960
Foundation of
Visigalli e Fiorentini, a company specializing in the working of aluminium sheet metal, and the production of reflectors.
1965
The Visigalli e Fiorentini company incorporates bright anodizing capacity and forms
Citor srl, the first and only Italian company to have integrated production of aluminium reflectors from their mechanical forming to bright anodized finishing.
1968
Installation of the first 300-ton hydraulic press, transforming the operation from
manual piece part working to
mass production.
1979
First automatic system for electrochemical
brightening and
anodizing of
reflectors in series.
1982
Creation of
Sacall SpA, a division dedicated to the continuous bright anodizing of
aluminium strip for the lighting industry.
1999
From the merger between Citor and Sacall,
Almeco SpA is born, taking full advantage of the pooling of common company operations and activities.
2006
Inauguration in Bernburg, Germany, of the new site dedicated to
Vega production with
PVD technology in a continuous vacuum coating line.
2008
Acquisition of
Satma sas, later renamed Almeco sas, the French site dedicated to the production of
Bandoxaldecor – anodized aluminium for the decorative sector.
Communication of the
Almeco S.p.A. and
Tinox GmbH merger. Almeco-Tinox focuses on the creation
of highly selective absorbent surfaces for heat generation.
2010
Almeco celebrates 50 years as a supplier of specialized aluminium products.
Almeco acquires the shares and assets of the service & processing
centre for pretreated metal for lighting industry located in Atlanta, Georgia with the formation of Almeco U.S.A. Inc.
