is a company specialized in aluminium products, starting from its early days as a supplier of reflector components for local Italian companies to its present position as a supplier to all the world’s major lighting system producers. This specialisation has led the Group to become one of the world's biggest producers of components for the lighting technology, solar energy industries and decorative market.

Production process

The raw material, cold-rolled aluminium bands, are processed continuously using a series of specially designed tanks for the chemical and electrochemical treatment of aluminium strips.
The main stages in this process are as follows:

Degreasing
Electrochemical polishing or brightening
Anodising
Colouring
Sealing

Each stage is essential in order to obtain a quality finished product and must be perfectly under control.

Degreasing

In the first treatment tank, the cold-rolled material is degreased in order to eliminate any traces of oil and lubricants that could pollute the surface and compromise the following finishing stages.

Electrochemical polishing or brightening

After degreasing, a controlled electrochemical polishing process may then be carried out on the coils.
This treatment considerably increases the brightness of surfaces, when required.

Anodising

This is an electrochemical process that creates a layer of aluminium oxide on the surface of the strip in an effectively controlled way.
Anodising process can be carried out to obtain a thin and compact oxide layer or alternatively a porous oxide layer.

Colouring

After anodising, the strip can be transferred into a colouring tank containing a dye that has been specifically selected for this application. Since the colour is part of the material itself, the final appearance of products is highly uniform, with a wide range of colours available. This stage is bypassed when the products to be produced are colour-free.

Sealing

This is the last treatment applied on the strip. It involves closing up the pores on the oxide layer in order to ensure that the surface is protected and will last over time.
Naturally, "compact" anodic layers do not require this last process.
For coloured products, sealing will result in the dye being trapped in the porosity, permanently setting the colour in the oxide layer.
